Met Lane was born and raised in Carrollton, Georgia. Met graduated from Furman University with a B.A. degree. He then received his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he was on Moot Court. From 2002 to 2005, Met was an Assistant District Attorney for Georgia’s Coweta Judicial Circuit, which includes Carroll, Heard, Coweta, Meriwether, and Troup counties. He handled hundreds of cases ranging from DUI cases to drug trafficking cases. He received many successful trial verdicts during his tenure as a prosecutor. Met was admitted to the Georgia Court of Appeals, Georgia Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court, and the Northern District of Georgia.
Before starting his law firm in 2021, Met was a partner in Carrollton for 16 years with a premier estate and litigation firm. For the last 20 years, Met has handled hundreds of civil cases such as personal injury, family law, contract disputes, estate & trust disputes, to criminal cases such as aggravated assaults and drug trafficking cases. In addition, Met has tried numerous civil and criminal cases throughout Georgia, where he has received successful verdicts on behalf of his clients.
Met has been highly active in serving his community. He served on the Carrollton City Council from 2017-2020. Also, he has served in numerous civic and charitable organizations such as Carrollton Rotary, Habitat for Humanity, and CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates).
Met and his wife, Corbett, live in Carrollton and have three children who currently attend the Carrollton city school system. Met and his family are members of the Carrolton First United Methodist Church.
